Most Valuable Brand 2015 – Apple is Back
A brand is a name, term, design, or other feature that distinguishes one seller’s product from those of others. Brands are used in business, marketing, and advertising. Initially, livestock branding was adopted to differentiate one person’s cattle from another’s by means of a distinctive symbol burned into the animal’s skin with a hot branding iron.

After a brief demotion to the No. 2 spot last year, Apple has won back its title as the world’s most valuable brand 2015, according to the annual BrandZ ranking put together by marketing research firm Millward Brown.

Google’s scrapping of its Glass headset, overseas regulatory troubles and lackluster earnings may have dented its brand appeal. Despite that flux, Google still maintained the second-place spot on most valuable brand 2015 and fared better than around half of those in the top 100.

The value of the brand is flat over the past three years as Microsoft struggles to make the transition to a mobile world. Growth has slowed, but it is still one of the most profitable brands in the world with operating margins of 34% in the latest fiscal year. The company’s $2.6 billion ad budget is one of the biggest in tech.
