Unique Soccer Goal Celebration – From Headbutt, Selfie, up to Human Toilet!


Goals! We love them in football. Whether a last-minute, match-winning screamer into the top corner from 30 yards or a scruffy, deflected effort from close range, everybody loves scoring goals. The moment the ball crosses the line is a split-second of unadulterated joy, a microcosm of emotion which can manifest itself in the most marvelous, or mad, ways.

Goal celebrations are sometimes planned, sometimes spontaneous, often embarrassing and sometimes stupendous. In association football, a goal celebration is the practice of celebrating the scoring of a goal. The celebration may be performed by the goalscorer (most notably), his or her teammates, the manager or coaching staff and/or the supporters of the team. Whilst referring to the celebration of a goal in general, the term can also be applied to specific actions, such as a player removing his shirt or performing a somersault.

Icelandic football team Stjarnan FC have found fame outside their homeland due to an elaborate goal celebration.┬áMore importantly they like to celebrate their goals in a slightly less regulation way than, say, Alan Shearer with his right arm raised running towards the corner flag.
