Introducing Google New Logo


After the big project of Google made Google Project Sunroof, Google make a major change to its logo on Tuesday, September 1st 2015. Google has launched its new logo, switching to an entirely new typeface. Google new logo is now sans-serif and thicker, which is the same typeface that Google’s new parent company Alphabet.

Designed to retain the friendly, Google new logo will appear in three different forms across all of Google’s products ranging from Android, to Chrome. On Google new logo, the company also introducing the four dots that’ll be used for voice control and then finally the G which will appear in all its shortened forms.


Google has changed a lot over the past 17 years—from the range of products to the evolution of their look and feel. And this logo is Google’s sixth logo since the company launched in 1998. Google new logo also features a disembodied voice saying: “We are providing you with answers before you’ve even asked for them.

The makeover has a practical motivation. This kind of lettering is easier to read when shrunk down, as Google products increasingly are on mobile devices and wearables.

As Official Google Blog post said :

“Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens.”

The logo was created earlier this year during a one-week collaboration between various Google designers. They wanted to create a smaller version of the Google logo for tiny screens, add some movement and have a consistent look across Google products. However, the change doesn’t seem to be related to the company’s re-organisation.
