Florida Women Who Riding Sea Turtle Got Arrested
A Florida woman who was photographed “sitting”or riding sea turtle finally arrested on Saturday. The case of woman who riding sea turtle is started when the photos of two women who both appeared to be riding sea turtle in Melbourne Beach uploaded to social media and went viral earlier this year. One of the woman on those picture is identified as Stephanie Marie Moore, the 20-year-old from Florida.
Facebook photos of Stephanie Marie Moore and another unidentified woman, eventually cause multiple complaints were forwarded to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, who handled the criminal investigation as written by Melbourne Police Department. Police arrested Moore and took her to Brevard County Jail, where she she will be held on a $2000 bond. If found guilty, Moore will faces up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines. However until now, there is no response from Moore or her family about this warrant.
As we know, sea turtles are a protected species under the federal Endangered Species Act of 1973 and Florida’s Marine Turtle Protection Act, and sitting on a turtle can damage its ribs or sternum. For that reason, Stephanie Marie Moore had been wanted on a felony warrant since July for the “possession, disturbance, mutilation, destruction, selling, transference, molestation, and harassment of marine turtles, nests or eggs.”
