January temperatures are so frigid, but a Minnesota man has a brilliant idea to warm it up by displaying frozen pants around Minneapolis. With winter comes plenty of new activities like sledding, ice skating and of course snowball fights, but when it’s too cold to stay outside for more than 15 minutes, frozen pants are the interesting ways to entertain themselves.
Tom Grotting is credited with starting the frozen pants in 2013, when the area was hit with a Polar Vortex and causing extremely low temperatures. His frozen pants prank become famous in his neighborhood ever since. To make his frozen pants stands, he soaks them in a bucket of water and place out in Minnesota’s notoriously cold weather, making it look like the trousers have run amok.
Tom Grotting create this prank for his neighbor named Diane, which hate winter so much. But since the media blow up Grotting’s frozen pants, other people living in cold climates with a spare pair of pants have been trying it out. Now the prank has gone viral and others are getting in on the act. The phenomenon has even spread to Ohio and beyond.
